Since February 2026, I have been serving as the Interim Communications Lead for Urban Minds, where I joined the team to volunteer as a Communications Coordinator in November 2025.
Currently managing a team of five coordinators, I am responsible for delegating tasks, tracking progress, and providing feedback to create communications materials that reflect projection missions and organizational tone. I also support communications strategies and social media campaigns for youth engagement initiatives, applying graphic design and digital production techniques to public-facing materials that are engaging and accessible to both youth and adult audiences. Consistent updates to social media platforms, their website, and newsletter have also been crucial to successful communications campaigns.
My highest achievement at this position so far has been the designing of the logo used for the organizations 10-Year Anniversary campaign and merchandise.
This final design was chosen for the 10-year anniversary campaign, as it visually celebrates both longevity and momentum, two things that define the organization's impact. The bold "10 Years" mark signals credibility and presence in the planning community, while the clean, modern typography and graphic shapes reflect both creativity and timeless design. The playful banner and hard-drawn texture give it an approachable, youth-centered feel, reinforcing the idea that young voices shouldn't just be inlucded but central to planning initiatives. Paired with the Urban Minds original logo, the deisgn balances professionalism with energy, making it a strong fit for a nonprofit focused on youth engagement in urban planning. Altogether, this logo honours a decade of impact while clearly looking ahead to the future with momentum.
Other Notable Contributions
The 1UP Design Builders Display boards are used to visualize the proposed planning initiatives of 8 secondary schools across Ontario. Over the school year, each school's 1UP Chapter developed a proposal for a project that tackles an existing issue experienced at their school. Through research, engagement with their peers, and development, each school developed a proposed solution to their problem that will be entered in competition during Urban Minds' annual 1UP Conference. After being examined by a panel of judges, the winning school will receive $1000 to make their project a reality.
The design of these boards was developed to effectively reflect the content and nature of each project, in a way that is clear and accessible to both urban planning and non-urban planning audiences alike.
