As a volunteer for Scarborough Cycles,I am responsible for improving daily operations of the Bike Hub, conducting analyses of participant data of programs, and aiding in the planning and facilitation of community programs.

With strong communication, customer service, and organization skills I am able to effectively work in this collaborative environment to maximize the impact of programs promoting inclusive cycling culture and wellbeing.

During my student placement, I supported daily operations and seasonal programs such as Hijabs and Helmets, a program dedicated to cycling education for Muslim women, children, and allies, as an effort to create opportunities for socialization and empowerment. Through this program, I led groups of 5-10 youth through cycling exercises and short rides to encourage skill-building. Additionally, I evaluated their operations and how their internal and external environments impact their mission. A final report was produced which can be read below.

As a Community Program Worker, in addition to my regular duties, I also led a team of 5 volunteers through our collaboration with the Women's Cycling Network. This collaboration is done for the Bike Match program which reintegrates donated bicycles back into the community, diverging waste from landfills and contributing to cycling accessibility concerns with the complementary bike match service. Over the summer, over 90 bike giveaways were completed on top of regular programming, requiring strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, and leadership skills.

I have worked with Scarborough Cycles since 2021.
